Love is a group of complex emotions and behaviors often characterized by intense intimacy, romance, devotion, desire, and caring. It typically involves close sharing, caring, intimacy, protection, desire, adoration, security, and sharing. Love can range from mild to extreme in intensity and may vary greatly over time. It’s often associated with an assortment of positive emotional states, such as happiness, excitement, lightness, ecstasy, vitality, creativity, wellness, joy, peace, faith, respect, and assurance.
When love is present, there is usually an aura of closeness and security. People are drawn to others who are like themselves, have similar beliefs and values, share similar experiences, possess similar strengths and weaknesses, share similar dreams and goals, and have similar connections and goals. These people often feel “filled” or “powered up” by being in the presence of others who are also feeling love. Attraction is very powerful, even on a subconscious level. As we become aware of this power, we can use it to attract more of these positive emotions.
Most loving relationships are long-term, even lifelong. The primary reason for this is that loving relationships create the right conditions for personal growth. People who are in loving relationships have greater self-awareness. This allows them to be sensitive to the needs and desires of another person.
Loving relationships develop the kind of empathy and compassion that enables us to listen deeply to our partner’s needs and wants, while giving them in return the attention and closeness they need to feel safe and loved. In a healthy relationship, the dynamics of attraction and repulsion are stable and powerful. When a couple manifests attraction for one another, it typically results in attraction for the other person as well. However, when a couple experiences the love and compassion for each other that is manifested in their relationship, they can begin to experience attraction for each other on a whole new level.
