Fashion is an artistic expression, in a cultural and social context and at a certain time and place, of apparel, footwear, accessories, hair style, makeup, fashion trends, and body shapes. The term “fashion” can also be used to refer to a style of dressing, a trend, or a type of appearance (e.g., clean cut, showy, extreme, etc.). One type of fashion is sportswear; for example, tennis shoes, golf clubs, cheerleading uniforms, tracksuits, and so on. Another kind of fashion is the clothing style that is common for a specific region, such as western or formal attire; a way of dressing for particular occasions; or a fashion style for indigenous people that generally does not conform to any international standards. The term “fashion design” can then be applied to describe a field that combines art and science in producing clothes, other accessories, and so on.
The word “fashion” can also refer to a specific style of dress developed by designers, which is usually associated with a period of fashion history (which is sometimes known as “haute couture”). Haute couture usually refers to high fashion clothing worn in the style during a period of extreme fashion trends. The most famous designers who have become household names through their innovation and originality in fashion are Dior, Balmain, Fath and Calvin Klein, Prada, and Fath and Merena.
Today’s fashion industry is very competitive and there are numerous styles and designs available. As a result, it is not only about what you wear but how you dress and look. The whole fashion industry has a great influence on what people consider as fashionable. Fashion designers need to constantly keep updating fashion trends so that they can stay one step ahead in this ever-changing business.
Today’s fashion industry has numerous sub-genres: formal, semi-formal, casual. The term “semi-formal” refers to elegant, up to the minute fashions, while the term “formal” indicates more formal fashions, often times worn in high-class or expensive venues or events. The term “casual” can be used to describe any type of fashion that is relaxed and easy-going. A good example would be the concept of “smart casual”, where the person wearing the clothing is smart enough to know what kind of fashion statement they are making. These three sub-genres of fashion are separated into many different categories and subcategories, and each type of category has its own unique fashion trends.
One of the most popular sub-genres of fashion are women’s formal dresses, such as dresses for cocktail parties, semi-formal dresses, and evening wear. Another very popular sub-genre is women’s casual clothes. These include jeans, skirts, and tops. The third sub-genre is all out fashion, which includes any sort of unconventional clothing, which often times makes a statement about the individual wearing the clothing. One example of this would be a pregnant woman wearing jeans. Outfitting these clothing fashion designers with this variety of clothing allows for new trends and ideas to emerge, as well as allowing the fashion designers to create very unique clothing items that have not been seen before.
All of the above sub-genres of fashion provide designers and manufacturers of clothing lines with a vast amount of options for them to work with when creating new clothing lines. These large clothing lines often take a year or so to develop, depending on the input of the clothing designers, as to what the latest trends are. This also allows the designers to experiment with new designs and styles, as well as seeing what types of designs will sell the best. In addition, the clothing lines may also be supported by fashion accessories. Accessories such as shoes, jewelry, scarves, caps, watches, and more all play an important role when it comes to defining trends in fashion.
